From Sketch to Manufacturer
A sketch starts the conversation, but manufacturers need specs, measurements, materials, and clear callouts.

from sketch to manufacturer
A sketch is a strong starting point for a garment, but it is not enough for production on its own. Manufacturers need to know what each part is, what it is made from, how it is measured, and how it should be finished.
Moving from sketch to manufacturer means translating the visual idea into a techpack.
Turn visible details into labels
Look at the front and back sketch and label the important parts: collar, sleeve, pocket, hem, closure, panel, artwork, trim, and any unusual feature. The labels help the factory read the garment quickly.
Connect labels to materials
If a label points to rib cuffs, contrast panels, embroidery, zipper tape, or a patch, those items may also need rows in the bill of materials. Sketches and materials should support each other.
Add measurements after the shape is clear
Measurements make the sketch measurable. Add points of measure that control the garment's fit and proportions, then fill the sample size values before grading the size range.
